Hong Beom-do
Hong Beom-do was an independence forces commander who, together with allied independence units that included the Korean Independence Army, defeated Japanese troops in the Battle of Bongo-dong in June 1920. The film The Battle: Roar to Victory is based on that battle, but its central characters—including Hae-cheol, Byeong-gu, and Jang-ha—and its detailed decoy and pursuit scenes should be understood as cinematic constructions.
